11. CLI: Leadership development for archdiocesan teens
Do you have an extraordinary high school student in your parish? One who is the definition of servant-leader? Or do you have a teen with great leadership potential? Send your leaders to our archdiocesan Christian Leadership Institute (CLI) on June 27-July 1, 2005. CLI is a one week leadership institute for Catholic high school students to develop skills for leadership and Christian ministry. Through presentation, process, and sharing, participants take ownership of these life skills to apply in their own settings. CLI is sponsored by the Archdiocese of Portland Office of Youth & Young Adult Ministry. More information including registration info will be available in early January.
12. YM’s invited to join campus ministry mailing list
The Secondary Religion Committee of the Archdiocese of Portland has invited youth ministers to join their list serve. This group is made up of our Catholic high school campus ministers and religion teachers. The email list serve is an avenue for the secondary schools in the archdiocese to share resources, build programs, and support each other in ministry to the local church. If you’re looking to connect with our Catholic high schools, then consider joining. The Office of Youth & Young Adult Ministry appreciates the invitation of our fellow youth-serving ministers. Visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SecondaryReligionArchPdx and click “Join this group."
If you are looking for an opportunity for your youth or young adults to get involved in the Pro-Life marches and advocacy without going all the way to Washington, DC, you may want to consider the West Coast Walk for Life on January 22, 2005 in San Francisco. This event coincides with the 32nd anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade decision. This will be the first time that people from all walks of life and faiths on the West Coast will come together with a pro-life voice. www.WalkforLifeWC.com.
